One of the most common complains in the computer is about its speed. We often rush to IT services companies and PC doctors to help improve our computer’s performance. While it may require specialized skills for troubleshooting the internal problems, there are certain basic computer repair steps that we can take to improve our system’s performance.
Starting today, we will discuss a few ways of improving the computer’s performance by making more room in the local disk.
Deletion of offline files: Surfing on the internet causes several files to reside in the computer’s local disk. These files are often not required at a later point in time. It is ideal to delete these offline files every now and then.
Steps to delete offline files in Internet Explorer:
1. Click the Tools menu.
2. Select the Internet Options option.
3. Click the Delete button in the Browsing history section.
4. Click the Delete Files button in the Temporary Internet Files section.
5. Click the Yes button in the new dialog box.
6. Click the Close button.
7. Click the OK button.
Steps to delete offline files in Mozilla Firefox:
1. Click the Tools menu.
2. Select the Options option.
3. Select the Privacy tab.
4. Click the Settings button in the Private Data section.
5. Check the Offline Website Data checkbox.
6. Click the OK button.
7. Click the Clear Now button in the Private Data section.
8. Click the Clear Private Data Now button.
9. Click the OK button.
