One of the trickiest forms of Laptop Repair is LCD replacement. The LCD (liquid crystal display) screen is a delicate component, and the display often contains the Wi-Fi antenna and a webcam. Sometimes the LCD is clearly cracked, is very dim, flickering, splotchy and sometimes it simply won’t turn on.
When your laptop LCD is suffering from any of these symptoms take a deep breath and ask the following questions:
- LCD in need of Replacement
- Does the laptop still turn on?
- If so, does the display light up at all - even if there is nothing being displayed?
- Is there damage to the bezel or is it just the LCD itself?
- Perhaps most importantly - does it work when connected to an external monitor?
At our Boston Laptop Repair shop we take in your laptop computer with LCD damage for a diagnostic session that can last from a few minutes to a day depending on the extent of the damage and the complexity of the hardware.
When we figure out what its going to take to restore the laptop to its original quality we give our customers a quote and let them decide how to proceed with the repair.
Even if your LCD is partially functioning, or works with an external monitor plugged in, take it to a local laptop repair shop or feel free to walk into our Boston laptop repair shop when we’re open. Using a damaged machine can actually cause more harm than the incident that broke it in the first place.
