Box.net iPhone app

1. Box.net

Box.net is the best way to store and view documents on your iPhone. Laura signed up for a free account which got her a limited amount of space for important documents like client contact information and Internet passwords. Box.net is built for sharing documents as well.

2. Mocha VNC

Play God with your computer. Access all of your computer’s files on your iPhone; you can even watch it update your computer in real-time. Supports iPhone 4 multitasking. Get it free in the Lite version.

3. Daily Tracker

Daily Tracker iPhone app

The best notes app out there. A pleasing, colorful interface, default note categories include Daily Planner, Health and Fitness, and you can add custom categories. Daily Tracker is now built for multitasking on the iPhone 4 and also supports VoiceOver (roll your finger over a note to hear it spoken aloud). Also available free in the Lite version.

4. Yelp

Do you travel for business? The “Nearby” tab on the Yelp iPhone app can help you find the nearest top-rated restaurants, hotels, coffee-shops, and dry-cleaning services. Free.

5. HomeBudget

Keep track of your expenses with the HomeBudget app. You can set up credit and debit card accounts to keep track of spending; input your cash transactions. Keeps historical data so you can look back on past expense trends. Free.

Texas computer repair

“One of the company’s employees preferred to use Open Office for word processing rather than Microsoft Office, which the rest of the office was using. By default, Open Office saves documents in its native format, .sxw. It’s always an option to save a document in any format, including .doc. However, the employee wanted the program to save his documents in .doc form by default. We set up his computer to complete the task; here’s a rundown on what we did.”

1. Click on Tools and then Options.
2. Open Load/Save on the left side of the window.
3. Click on General under the Load/Save section.
4. In the area labeled as “Default file format” near the bottom of the dialog window, select the type of document you want, for example, Text Document for Writer files, in the Document Type drop-down list.
5. To the right dropdown list labeled as “Always Save As”, change or select the format as “Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP.”
